| The most important precondition for the Fresh VELTINS arises from the unique countryside of the Hochsauerland: best spring water. After the construction of the castle Grafenstein in the 13th century which gave the place its name, farmers and craftsmen had settled. Compared to the year of foundation of the brewery VELTINS, 1824, when Grevenstein still was a tranquil small place, there has happened a lot - especially because of its constant growth of the brewery. | |||
| Grevenstein is with its around 1,000 inhabitants still picturesque and thus, offers the ideal background for old brewing tradition. But the construction of a new environs street, the blasting of more than one million cubicmeters of rocks from the mountain in order to make the expansion possible, and the creation of a lot of jobs are evidence of the constant growth of the brewery VELTINS, meanwhile itself a mountain within the hilly country of the Hochsauerland. | |||
